Client profile: A Twin Cities-based producer of signage and oversized graphic displays – with annual sales of approximately $20 million.
The Challenge: Our client needed efficient, cost-effective and timely delivery of oversized ad signage, to be installed in 3,300 bus shelters in highly congested areas of New York City. Delivery had to be timed to coordinate with the various installation crews, to ensure smooth and safe set-up.
TDS Solution: We used specially crafted pallet frames to protect the cargo, and a comprehensive scheduling system that worked around peak traffic times to maximize efficiencies in delivery and installation.
Tangible Result: Our service team successfully coordinated delivery of over 100 trailer loads of the nine-foot-high rolling signs to multiple locations in New York City – all damage-free. We also managed the periodic pickup of the pallet frames for reuse at the same time, minimizing the customer’s return costs. We were the first carrier to handle this project, and it was executed to perfection.
